Poarch is a native of the Philippines. In an interview on the H3 Podcast Poarch told interviewers that her maternal grandmother had raised her in slums up until she was 3 years old. Kenneth Taylor, an American ex-pat and his wife Eden adopted her. She explained that for the following 10 years, she spent a lot of time working on the family farm and doing chores. Poarch has two older adoptive sisters and an older brother Bryner. The family relocated to the United States in Texas when she was thirteen, with being able to leave her two older sisters, who remained within the Phillipines. Poarch was later a United States Navy officer and was stationed for a few decades in Japan. Bella admitted that her father was abusive to her as well as her brother and that she had no friends in high school. Poarch's career began in April of 2020, when she started posting regularly on TikTok. The site gained fame after a series of lip-sync videos that included her best-loved video featuring singing Soph Aspin send from Millie B. Following her TikTok successes, she started her own YouTube channel as well as a Twitter account in the weeks since she joined TikTok. Poarch has also gained a lot of attention because of her alpaca-stuffed doll Paca. She released a special clothing collection called RIPNDIP x Paca Collaboration in the year 2020.
